5th Grade Service Learning Project!!

What is a Service Learning Project?  This week we are beginning to think about service learning projects. Green Sea Floyds Elementary is known for giving back to the community. Each year students like you volunteer, bring in items such as food and clothes, and take part in activities that help raise money and awareness for programs that benefit those who are less fortunate and are in need. We are proud of all you have done in the past. Continue to help our school as we begin to help those in need.

What does this teach kids about Service Learning? This teaches skills that will help us become knowledgeable about the programs that we support. It teaches kids about Philanthropy and the importance of giving back to our community. Most importantly, it instills within the students a personal connection to those in need.

Here is a video and link that you can access to learn more about service learning.

Welcome to Mrs. Graham's Class Blog. Look at the pages to find information about classes. Parents take a look at the Common Core Standards widget on this page.  Choose your child's grade and read. It gives you info about what I will be teaching this year. Technology is a huge part of your child's learning. The Common Core was created for all kids in America. These new standards raise the bar so your child will be prepared for college. The most important thing they will do is use technology to help them create and learn. Save this site to your desktop. If you have questions or comments write them below. You will not see them immediately. I must approve and respond through my email. Then they will post. Thanks.
